Ye I guess lots of people are in a way owned by their possessions so could be seen as pets of possession. Quite ironic indeed that the images come from a banking corporation although I agree it's probably not intentional.

Human behavior is weird enough as it is. Hamsters living in villa’s give me pure antrophomorphobia. - Kind of peculiar that the commercials were created by a banking corporation.. would there be some hidden truth in how they perceive their clients? I mean, for all we know, in the mind of a big multinational a human looks a lot like a hamster no?
