Remember that aggravating 8-bit pixeled watch icon that used to replace your mouse cursor whenever your Apple computer was ‘taking time’ to finish a task? Displaying a wristwatch to show your computer was busy always felt like an odd metaphor – likewise for the sand clock icon on Microsoft computers – yet once it was replaced by the animated rainbow warp, people immediately missed it.

Luckily for all you pixel-nostalgics out there, the icon watch now boomeranged into the physical world. To be worn as a wrist clock for 8-bit retro time telling. Get yours and keep this lost symbol of the pixel era alive. Pass it on to your children!

    @Jak Sprat: As written at the bottom of the post, the 8-bit Icon Watch is designed by the good people of ‘& Design’.

    Shipping is indeed worldwide and the price is the lowest price on the web (We are in it for the savior of the 8-bit icon watch in physical space).

    Honestly, we haven’t checked whether the producers of the 8-bit icon watch pay any revenue for the use of the Apple icon – my guess is they don’t. Anyhow, we are hoping Susan Kare will interpret the icon watch as an homage to her original icon design for the Mac OS. That’s what it is. Anticipating your followup question: I have no idea whether Apple ever paid Swiss watchmakers for the use of the watch metaphor in their OS.

    Yes Max, fixed postage price, worldwide shipping (the package is actually sent by plane) also to Malaysia. Should be there within a week after you’ve ordered. Good luck saving icons in Malaysia!

    Hello, I’m from Denmark. What location do you sent the package from? I couldn’t find it on your website. I have had some problems with package sent from duty-free countries. The customs sent me a bill, so I had to paid even more for the product I ordered.

    Giafrà, non so, io sono un utente normale come te, non faccio parte di questo sito :D Come da quanto ho capito questi stanno in Olanda, in 6-7 giorni dovrebbe arrivare.     ARG! It’s a disaster! -_-’ I fell with my watch(i was skiing) and the plastic screen disappear in the snow… Is it possible to buy an another one ? The watch perfectly work but it will damage the hand it to use it without the protection screen.

    Ma ti dico che è arrivato in un normalissimo pacchetto postale con le bolle .. niente di tracciabile o sicuro….
    insomma posta normale.
