Well, just take into account that these (because there are many, not just that one in the picture) escalators were constructed for the 1992 olimpic games… and many people, as old people, had to arrive to the olimpic stadium, but had problems for walking long distances… Nowadays are still used for many people, to go to the stadium and around… Is not a bad idea… For sure, better than use the car!
