Nowadays, young children are so used to the omnipresence of disposable toys. When their parents buy them a living pet animal they are unable to take care of it. Hamster tend to get toasted, or just ignored. Tinkebell (allready notorious for her cat bag) argues it is beter to give these children babybunnie toys, made out of stuffed animals.

Terriffic work! My best friend - (Jenzo) - whom I met at art school once made a remote controlled stuffed (real) guinea pig that vistors to the gallery could control. The guinea pig was set upon a painting (perhaps it was gel medium - I cannot recall but an image anyway). As a result of visitors ‘playing’ with the radio controlled piggy (which had bleached blonde fur and false eyelashes!) the image became gradually erased. It was a very interesting work!
This same friend made a number of other works using taxidermised animals - very provocative.

Well, I seen her exhibition with bunnies at the Eindhoven DesignWeek (NL)… got a bit shocked, but went thinking and it’s not that sick if you think about what happens in the world.
1) Noone cares about those awfull livestock transports in which pig are sometimes dying of exhaustion and , just because processing them is cheaper in 2000km away?? THAT”S SICK
2) We send our sons and daughters to fight others sons and daugthers in war… THAT’S SICK
3) She has a point about the ignorant way people sometime treat their pets. If you kill them carefully, they won’t know what happend and go to (pet-)heaven… if you tie your dog to a tree he’ll suffer mentally and physically

I think it’s fine, taxidermy has been around for a long, long time, many people stuff animals who have died of natural causes anyway.
What I think is most offensive about these people’s comments is how several of them are attacking the way the artist dresses and how she doesn’t do her hair and makeup.
Shallow-minded and nasty, those comments are. The way the artist looks has nothing to do with the issue, not everyone can (or should) conform to your ideals of beauty.

Wow! I don’t see how the suffering of other animals in other industries has anything to do with what is the moral high ground in this particular case. If you think that senseless killing is wrong…and this certainly counts as senseless, than this is wrong. I try not to support unnecessary cruelty, I don’t eat meat or dairy and avoid any other acts that might cause pain in other living animals. However, even if I did eat factory farmed meat that wouldn’t change the fact that killing animals for entertainment is needless suffering. True, there are many other nasty and terrrible things out there but by choosing not to support one of them you are doing good thing. I can not support this useless evil.
