Tonight, Studio Drift is launching their debut museum solo exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam: Coded Nature. As NNN Fellows, this Dutch duo is showcasing a dazzling walkthrough of “10 years exploring fluctuating relationships between nature, technology and mankind,” and you are invited.

Behind Studio Drift are Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta. Together, they have produced multi-disciplinary installations, sculptures, objects, films, and have been exhibited worldwide at leading institutions ever since.

At first glance, the works seem to refer to familiar situations, but on further investigation, these references are brought into question. This places the viewer in an interesting position, reshaping how we relate to our environment and stimulating new ways of thinking.

For Coded Nature, an impressive total of eight rooms will be filled with their works - more than enough to fully engulf yourself in Studio Drift's philosophy.

Their oeuvre is of a rich diversity. A small set of examples range from their delicate light sculptures of "Fragile future", to the interactive augmented reality experience “Concrete Storm”, or, hard to miss, their floating block of concrete “Drifter”.

The exhibition also features new and previously unseen work. Their latest work, Elementism (2018), sheds light on the amount of materials used for our day to day products, and suggests how a newly developed production method could reduce our material footprint.

Next Nature is more than excited to visit their exhibition. We hope to see you there! Not around? No problem, the expo runs untill the 26th of August, at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and will definitely be worthwhile!

Free admission on Tuesday evening April 24 from 8.45 pm. Please note it might get crowded during the opening, so make sure you are on time!
