Marije Vogelzang graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2000. Since 1999 she has been focussing on food as a subject for design, working from ‘the verb of eating’. She regards her field of work as ‘eating design’ rather than the often used ‘food design’ – which would imply the literal design of food.
Besides her independent design practice, Vogelzang has created and owned 2 experimental restaurants (PROEF in Rotterdam and Amsterdam) between 2004 and 2011. Her design work ranges from experimental food experiences and performances to future food objects and commercial work. Since 2013, Vogelzang curates food and design related exhibitions. Vogelzang’s work has been exhibited globally.
