As a design fiction researcher, Renee concerns herself with the societal impact of the integration of technology. By creating future artefacts and deploying those in an academic context, she aims to make a case for design fiction as a research method and as a way to gather insights on our technological future.

She is currently basing her masters thesis on the ECO Coin, specifically looking at what the ECO Coin might look like in the future as a way to improve its design today.
